Description of Significance THE C.L. COOPER BUILDING IS THE ONLY REMAINING COMMERCIAL BUILDING ASSOCIATED WITH THE AFRICAN AMERICAN BUSINESS DISTRICT OF EUFAULA. FURTHER, IT IS ASSOCIATED WITH DR C.L. COOPER, THE FIRST AND ONLY AFRICAN AMERICAN PHYSICIAN IN EUFAULA WHO SERVED THE AREA FROM 1908 UNTIL THE MID-1930S. THE BUILDING IS A TWO-STORY RECTANGULAR BRICK COMMERCIAL BUILDING. IT HAS A SLOPING ROOF WITH A STEPPED PARAPET ON TWO SIDES. THE ORIGINAL DISPLAY WINDOW OPENINGS ON THE FIRST FLOOR HAVE BEEN ALTERED, WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF ORIGINAL DOORS AND WINDOWS. DECORATIVE ELEMENTS INCLUDED ARCHED WINDOW OPENINGS. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 3/22/1985.
